About Isle of Jura

Jura Distillery is located on the Isle of Jura, off Scotland’s west coast. Originally founded in 1810, it was rebuilt and modernized in 1963 after decades of silence. Today the site is owned by Whyte & Mackay, and produces both unpeated and peated malts for the Jura brand as well as spirit destined for blends. Its remote location, tall stills, and limited local infrastructure underscore its identity as one of Scotland’s distinctive island producers.
